How would you like me to tell you? How would you like me to explainwhen I try to describe to you howmuch I want you? Do I say it withwords, or with long sighs out of mytired lungs? Do I whisper it orscream it across the space that shouldnot be separating us any longer?Do I kneel down and with hands claspedtogether phrase it as a question thatbegins with ‘will’ and ends softlywith ‘stay here forever,’ the ‘you’choked out in between the two halves.Do I type it or carve it intomy skin so the blood can show you andthe scar forever remind you? Do Ibeg or do I swallow it all and hopethat you know the way to see into mychest, the letters white like bonesin the x-ray of how I am feeling?Do I sink or do I swim?
